The rocking Drake & Scull International PJSC, a Dubai-based mechanical, electrical and plumbing company, won four contracts valued at a combined 80 million dirhams in Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. The new contracts take the value of projects awarded to Drake & Scull since the beginning of the year to 2.5 billion dirhams compared with 1.5 billion dirhams a year earlier, the company said in a statement to the Dubai bourse today. Drake with Francis and the Lights Where Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts When Tuesday night What hasn't already been said about new hip-hop poster boy Drake. The rocking Drake knows a thing or two about having a devoted fan base. His following propelled him to a #1 album in June with Thank Me Later. When it comes to the SoundScan charts, 2010 has belonged to Marshall Mathers. Eminem's Recovery is #1 for the fifth straight week and looks to be an unbeatable monster right now he is close to 2 million copies sold. The rocking star Drake expects his good friend Lil Wayne to have that same achievement when he is released from prison and resumes his career. Much like Eminem and Jay-Z, Drizzy asserts, Weezy has a center that has unconditional love for him.
On sale this Saturday, July 31st at 10 am, AT&T presents the legendary icon DRAKE's THE LIGHT DREAMS AND NIGHTMARE TOUR with special guest CLIPSE. The concert will be October 12 at 7:30 pm, live at The Fox Theatre. Fresh off a #1 record debut, DRAKE is embarking on The Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour 2010 has been a highly successful year for DRAKE not only did his album Thank Me Later but at #1 on the Billboard 200, but he was also nominated for two Grammy Awards including Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance. Joining DRAKE on The Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour is hip-hop duo, CLIPSE. Whereas the rapper Drake is badly trying to be hired to play Obama in a movie, we were more excited to learn he starred in Degrassi. The Next Generation.
The newest hip-hopper causing riots along with fans told that he is searching for potential acting projects about the life of America's first black president also spends his time copying Obama's behavior and speech patterns. "I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama's life soon because I could play him. That's the goal Anytime I see him on TV, I don't change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice," the vaguely creepy sounding rapper told the mag. Although he is now a Grammy-nominated artist, Drake got his start playing Jimmy Brooks the basketball player before ending up wheelchair bound on Degrassi, The Next Generation and the beloved cult Canadian TV show. A forecast, to start by the time his career is over, Aubrey Drake Graham will go down as the biggest celebrity this country has ever produced bigger than Keanu, bigger than Gretzky, bigger than Celine. Given how cringe valuable most Canadian pop-culture figures are, that’s not an overall pleasing consideration, but Drake seems better-placed than his predecessors to achieve the rarest of cultural feats, he could end up making Canada seem cool.Get your cheap drake tickets before they sold out.

Swap tea...
...for something else. If you want to get in shape fast, ditch your regular cup of tea and go for a fat-burning one instead. Studies show that green tea revs up your metabolism, so aim for several cups a day.

Take some supplement
Fish oil supplements are a great way to shed pounds. A recent study found that volunteers who took them lost, on an average, two kilos over three months without changing their diet or exercise habits. Fish oils are great for helping your body burn fat more efficiently.

Avoid salt
That's the advice most weight-loss experts give. When people cut down the salt in their diet, they instantly look slimmer and less bloated. Too much salt makes your body retain water, which makes you puffy around your face and stomach. Go for low-salt breakfast options such as a khichdi .

Also, don't add tablesalt to your food or cooking, avoid salty snacks such as crisps and go easy on processed sauces which are often packed with salt.

As a guide, avoid foods that contain more than 0.5g of sodium per 100gm on the label (sodium is just another way of describing the salt content). The fresher your food, the less salt it's likely to contain. And be very careful about take-aways – Chinese food, in particular, is loaded with salt because of the sauces.

Ditch sugar
Like salt, sugar is a diet baddie. Even though sugary foods – such as boiled sweets and mousses – are often labelled 'low-fat', they're incredibly high in calories. And if you don't work off the calories by exercising, that sugar gets stored as fat – usually around your stomach and waist. Sugar also increases your hunger. So, ditch the sugar in your tea and also the colas that you gulp down every day.

Eat low-sugar snacks instead. Chopped vegetables, for example are rich in fibre, so they'll keep you fuller for longer and will aid your digestion, which helps to reduce bloating. Alcohol is practically pure sugar, so give that a miss, too. If you drink regularly, you'll notice the difference after giving it up for a week.

Relax
If it is day seven already, don't worry. You can still lose weight! Stress really does make you fat. It causes hormones to be released into your body that encourage fat deposits around your waist and stomach.

WHY BLOOD TYPE DIET?
Each blood type evolved at a different point in history so we should adopt diets similar to those our ancestors had when our blood group evolved. By eating foods that your personal blood type can easily digest, you will lose weight, feel healthier and be happier.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BE EATING?
Blood group O's plan
O is the oldest blood group, so people with this type feel best and stay slimmest on a 'hunter' type diet like our ancestors. Os tend to be high achievers with lots of energy and are very organised.
Drop a dress size: Follow a high-protein diet — being vegetarian will mean you're always hungry and snack on carbs, causing problems with blood sugar and metabolism.
Foods to eat freely: Lean meats, fish. Foods to avoid: Too much dairy or carbs.
Personal exercise plan: An hour of cardio a day and workout in the morning rather than the evening. Jogging, cycling, swimming or brisk walking are also perfect.

Blood group B's plan
No blood type epitomises the 'everything in moderation' expression more than B. It evolved at a time when people travelled more, so meat, vegetables and grains were eaten in a more balanced way. You have a strong, healthy constitution and tend to be very downto-earth and practical.
Drop a dress size: Combining the O and A diet — a bit of everything. Lucky type Bs generally find it easiest to lose weight.
Foods to eat freely: Meat, fish, coffee, vegetables and wheat-free grains.
Foods to avoid: Processed foods.
Personal exercise plan: You're drawn to moderate exercise, which uses your brain as well as your body. Team sports such as netball or dancing classes, two to three times a week are perfect.

Blood group A's plan
This blood group evolved later than O, when people farmed more than hunted, so you need less protein and more grains. Group As tend to be highly creative, good problem-solvers and can be very sensitive.
Drop a dress size: Eat less meat and more vegetables, wholemeal carbs. Foods to eat freely: Nuts, seeds, cereals, pasta, fruit and vegetables.
Foods to avoid: Dairy if prone to allergies, too much meat.
Personal exercise plan: Group As are often less active than Os, needing just 30 minutes of gentle exercise a day. Yoga, Tai Chi, walking and an outdoor lifestyle suit As best.

Blood group AB's plan
A combination of types A and B, you have dietary components of both and can eat just about anything. ABs have a canny knack of being creative, having a good head for business and getting on with people.
Drop a dress size: Avoid too much meat. Pack your diet with vegetarian foods and treat meat as a treat.
Foods to eat freely: Fish, vegetables, carbs and grains.
Foods to avoid: Too much meat.
Personal exercise plan: Mix it up by appealing to your calm side with yoga or Pilates once a week and a couple of sessions of something more intense such as light jogging.

NEW YORK: Google Inc said users of Gmail will now be able to call telephones directly from their email, putting it in direct competition with Web calling service Skype and more traditional operators such as AT&T Inc and Verizon Communications.

While Google had already offered computer-to-computer voice and video chat services, it said that starting on Wednesday it will now allow calls to home phones and mobile phones directly from Gmail for the first time.

Google promised free calls to US and Canadian phones from Gmail for the rest of this year and said it would charge low rates for calls made to other countries. For example it said calls to Britain, France, Germany, China and Japan would be as low as 2 cents per minute.

Analysts said the service would likely be a bigger competitive threat to services like Skype's than to traditional phone companies, which have already been cutting their call prices in recent years in response to stiff competition.

I lost ten points just for being in the right place
at exactly the wrong time
I looked right at the facts there, but I may as well have
been completely blind
So, if you see me walking all alone
Don't look back, I'm just on my way back home
there's a train leaves here this morning, and
I don't know, what I might be on
She signed me to a contract, baby said it would
all be so life long
I looked around then for a reason
when there wasn't something more to blame it on
But, if time makes a difference while we're gone
Tell me now, and I won't be hanging on
There's a train leaves here this morning
and I don't know, what I might be on
ooo, ooo, ooo.. etc...
1320 North Columbus was the address
that I wrote down on my sleeve
I don't know just what she wanted
might have been that it was getting time to leave
and I watched as the smoker passed it on
and I laughed when the joker said, "Lead on."
cause there's a train leaves here this morning
and I don't know, what I might be on
And there's train leaves here this morning
and I don't know, what I might be on

IGN: What about your own upbringing?

Xzibit: Well, my father was a marine so you know how that is (laughs). My mom passed at an early age. I was nine and he got remarried and that was a little rough. The stepfamily arrangement was rough but they were both educators. The one thing that was important in my household was education so when I was in trouble, read a book. When I wasn't in trouble, read a book, when I'm done with the chores, read a book. Can I watch TV? Read a book, then you can watch TV.

IGN: If you did get in trouble as a kid, what was the worst that you remember?

Xzibit: I was very angry when my mom passed so I acted out a lot of that. I was getting caught with firearms. I was in the street and I was rebelling against what my father was trying to teach me because I was just angry and didn't want to listen to anybody. It wasn't until life's lessons start teaching you on your own. Your parents can only take you so far then when you're eighteen, the state takes over [laughs].

IGN: What made you change then?

Xzibit: I think it was a conscious decision. I've never been to prison. I've been to jail but never prison. I don't like being in holding tanks. I don't like being in shackles. I'm a smarter guy than that. I can figure something out to do better with my time. There was a natural decision to not want to have to deal with the consequences of that type of behavior. One of the problems with young black men in our country today is immediate gratification. They don't understand what it means to work and persevere through something in order to obtain a goal. It's hard because nobody has ever taught us that. We don't come from families where you have family businesses, accounts, trust funds. We don't come from that. We come from 'okay, this is a struggle for whatever it is then you start your struggle'. That's what you have to look forward to. So immediate gratification and wanting to be competitive and seeing what other people have and not having it over decades. Not seeing your father have it or his father none of that. Immediate gratification is a lot more attractive than going to college and getting a job. That's going to take too long. I'll be dead before I get anything. So it's a vicious cycle.

IGN: Did you talk to the young actors or give them any advice?

Xzibit: No. A lot of these guys, it was their first time in front of a camera. Some of them had a little experience but I think what really kept them together was [director] Phil [Joanou]. Phil did something unorthodox in the filmmaking process. He would take the dailies, go home with everything, stay up all night probably and cut these scenes together as we finished them. Then, during lunch the next day, he would come and show us what he had cut with music and everything. It was like 'Wow, we did that yesterday'. He would show us how the movie was coming together as we were making it and the kids could see why he kept asking them to do it over and why he needed them to stop messing around on set. It was intense. I think Phil was the child wrangler in this whole scenario. He was great.

IGN: Did you make a conscious choice to do something less conventional for a rapper making a transition to film, or to play a redeeming character rather than a gangster?

Xzibit: No. My projects usually evolve from me turning down a lot of stuff. I'm in a unique position in that my career in music is not over and I have other television things and ventures I can get into. So, it's like I can be very selective when it comes to movie roles. I'm not feeding my kid off movie roles so it's easy for me to say 'no' to things but it's important for me to have this presence and I know it's easy to stereotype and pigeonhole certain people that come from a certain genre but I can do more than a lot of people expect. Underestimation has been one of the key factors in my career. As I progress, I have respect for the craft also. So, if I'm going to step into that role, I'm going to make sure that I'm not going to piss you guys off by biting off more than I can chew (laughs). I don't want it to be like watching nails on a chalkboard. But I really want to take my time and make sure that the roles that I take are meaningful and have some kind of backbone to them and have some sort of transition and they have to show some chops. It's easy for me to pick up a gun and have that image. It's the fastest way for you to identify, but what I force the studios to do is to challenge me. Put me in a position that is not easy for me to tackle and not easy for me to be seen as because I do this for a living. As long as those are the parameters, I'm goin' for it.

IGN: You mentioned a kid. How are you raising him or her to stick to the straight and narrow and not end up like some of these kids in the movie?

Xzibit: I do have a son. He's eleven years old. First of all, a lot of these kids who end up in these facilities and these problematic situations come from broken homes or homes that don't have father figures or mother figures but I do talk very intensely to my son. There's no rule book or guide book on parenting but what I found is if I hold his attention and the information that he gets is corrected and he comes and asks me for the information instead of listening to his friends, I've found that's the biggest way to make sure that I keep him straight. He can come home and say a word, 'Dad, what does this mean'? And I'll cringe inside 'oh my God, who told you that?' But, then it's up to me to make sure he hears the right information, the right terminology because this may be a slang word or something else. I'm his hero so as long as he keeps coming to me for that information, he'll be all right. He'll have something to balance and argue against, [like] 'no, that don't sound right cuz pop said this and I know my pops is straight'.

IGN: How did you get involved in this project?

Xzibit: The studio approached me and then the Stanleys approached me and gave me the documentary first. When I watched the documentary, I pride myself on being a tough guy, but it moved me. I was tearing up. It was a complete and real story and I was attracted to it. It wasn't a money thing. It wasn't 'it's a Rock thing'. It was a real story compared to the other films I've been working on because film isn't my forte.

IGN: Is your character a composite or a real guy?

Xzibit: A real guy. He was there last night [at the screening].

IGN: How much time did you spend with him?

Xzibit: He came to the set and I got to meet him while we were at the actual facility but we spent five or six days on set throughout the entire film. It grew from there. We just spoke briefly last night. I think it's overwhelming for a real person to see his life portrayed in a major motion picture when he wasn't trying to do that. He didn't invite himself. Somebody saw his action. It's a little overwhelming for him I think.

IGN: Did you pimp any of the kids' rides?

Xzibit: No (laughs). None of that. That's a separate world man. Please don't bring that into this one.

IGN: Nobody asked?

Xzibit: No. I think everybody understood what we had to do in this movie and it had nothing to do with that. That's what I do on the side. I think what was important was portraying these guys in the light they deserve. And, really taking their genuine feelings and the overextending that they did for these kids and doing it justice on the screen.
