Could we lock down the forums??

Well,I have seen soooo many so called "new comers" on this site [and spammers] lately that it really made me wonder one thing.

Could we "lock down" the forums from the "outsiders" and from everyone who's trying to scan the forums??

Meaning: If people want to scan the forums [read threads],they should register first???

I've seen couple of that kind of forums..on the net and I think it's "aiight",not necessary,but this place wouldn't probably look so goofy,if people should register in first before they can do anything [scan,reply to threads etc]

This is just a suggestion and a thought

LR2 thats a great idea..in fact i'm a member in 3 forums and this is the only one of them that i don't need 2 log in 2 see threads and all that..
so i agree that we should lock it down..

WHAT...NO!! if people cant see what happens on the forms them why tha hell would they go to the trouble of sign up to something that they NOTIN a bout?!?

Locking down the forum will NOT stop spammers nor one time registrants from registering. It just prevents readers on the outside from reading. But yes, there is a way to make it readable to ONLY registered users and that's all it would do. They only way to make it spammer proof, and this is NOT surefire, it to pre-approve all registrants at the registration point. No one person wants to take the time to do that on such a large forum as this. I have that option enabled on my forum AND it's locked down to the registered people ONLY can read anything inside. You can't even see the forum titles. AHAHAHAA!! All you get is the log in page, nothing more. AND, you have to have an invitation to even know where mine is. YESSSSSSSSSS!!

This is a Joe/Joanne public forum and hence why I never talk to the people in the Intro Section. People will put some info to reel you in and never come back. Like the District of Columbia person. I bet s/he her will never log in again. I live outside of the DC are, so I am very warry of people who log in using "Diana", "Maryland", "DC, "VA" AND those who say things like - "hi, I'm _____ and I'm from _____ and I love Xzibit... please talk to me".... whatever...............

o.k, since i bn thowin quite a bit of music,and was thinking, to the effect of what if non members are not able to access the full songs that are available from this site, it might boost up interest mabbe, a tad, idk passing thought??!!!!i meant in the sense that u are able to get quite a few song throught the forum,and links, ect,
