MTV Sept 8th GRIDIRON GANG special

Sept 8 2006, MTV will start airing a special half-hour segment featuring "Gridiron Gang" on their new series, "YOUR MOVIE SHOW." We spent all weekend taping it on location at the maximum security juvenille detention facility we made the film (Camp Kilpatrick) and had exclussive interviews with The Rock, Xzibit, The real Sean Porter & Malcolm Moore, (the coaches who they played) the kids from both the documentary and feature film coming out Sept 15th and even an interview with yours truly. We ended the day with a special screening of the film for MTV's 250 contest winners and you'll see their responses to the film.

I think you'll enjoy!

MTV.com is laced with movie imagery... so was X's page there. (YAY)

And here's all the movies slated to open on the same XACT day:

"The Black Dahlia" -- Brian De Palma directs Scarlett Johansson, Josh Hartnett and Hilary Swank in this adaptation of James Ellroy's novel about the unsolved 1940s murder of a Hollywood starlet.

"Everyone's Hero" -- The late Christopher Reeve was executive producer and a director of this animated tale of perseverance about a boy's cross-country trek to help Babe Ruth and the Yankees win the World Series.

"Gridiron Gang" -- Probation officers played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Xzibit transform teenage criminals into a football team.

"The Ground Truth: After the Killing Ends" -- U.S. soldiers who served in Iraq talk about their homecomings and their service in this searing documentary by Patricia Foulkrod, which was a grand jury prize nominee at the Sundance Film Festival.

"The Last Kiss" -- "Scrubs" star Zach Braff portrays an architect who cheats on his pregnant girlfriend. Former reality show participant and model Jacinda Barrett co-stars

Its good though, he's getting behind everything he does, its good to see.

I read somewhere that he's taking his son to the premier, young tremayne in a suit :p

WireImage has the linkage to the pics but since it is still early, it's not accesible yet... damn...

I love their hair. Someone put a good word up for the tattered one, he looks 'dappah'!! Always loved those thin pinstripe suites. Makes a man look taller. About his son, just too cute for words. I bet he IS sending some Valentine's Day cards and getting plenty too. HAHA!!

I think I wanna puke now. No fault of Dwayne's, I guess, but all this publicity is centered around him. I thought the movie was about Sean, Malcolm AND the kids... geeeez. On IMDb main page, there's a Dwayne friggin' photo gallery. Shut th f up already and give Xzibit some freakin' love. You think Mr D is like the only star in this movie. Dammmmmn...

And, while I was waitin' to d/l the newest iTunes, an WireImage entertainment podcast loaded. And who the hell did the camera love? Yeah, you guessed it - ROCKS. X was just barely seen posin' and cheesin' for the camera. (sighs) I am going to write somebody to get an X photo gallery up on IMDb DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone catch E! (or any other source) to see if X get tos say ANYTHING??

Lady Di

Ok, I watched the MTV thingy and the promos had less ROCK in them, YAY!! But the whole show, well yeah, ROCKed up. Anyhow X talked abut his brush with the law a weee bit, keepin' true to the real life people and his reason on why he chose to do this role. He spoke very little compared to Dwayne no doubt. The screening for the fans also included 2 of the original once gang members and actual Gridiron men. Well, kids at that time they were at Kilpatrick. They both were very emotional watching the movie of their lives.

Later on, there was not a dry eye in the place when the Latino guy said if it weren't for Sean, if he got released, he would probably be dead. Rock was near tears, while X held his head down. The name of the movie on the marquee read "Grid Iron Gang"... interesting.

During this half hour feature, they showed bits of the documentary that this movie is based on. Movie clips were shown intermittingly and Rock also talked to Sean - today, if you will. He seemed very pleased with the movie's outcome. They didn't talk to Malcolm as much, sadly. But he seemed ok with the movie too.

I have it, want to buy it Deba? I am not that happy with it, seriosuly. It's pclips of the movie, HUGE photos as in resolution and size (which the ones with X are under that 'Photos of X Man' thread), access the to the net for downloads and I forget what else. Kinda dispappointed with it. Justin... I say you get a gift. Keep ya posted.

This line is from review seen via MSN and Xzbitis role in the flick:

..."Along with his colleague, Malcolm (rapper Xzibit, who doesn’t get to do much besides stand next to The Rock during practice)... "

Lady Di

Here' some quotes from across the net (Justin - laughs) about his performance via the movie:

Rapper Xzibit as Malcolm Moore, Porter's assistant coach, gives a quiet, naturalistic performance that makes one want to see more of his character.

The musician Xzibit delivers a quietly convincing turn as Porter's loyal assistant
