"If you go into the wild, you don't try to tickle the grizzly bears," advises the rapper-actor known as Xzibit.
For eight years, the West Coast hip-hop legend has been besieged almost daily by well-meaning fans expecting the genial genie from his MTV show Pimp My Ride — a wish-fulfillment fantasy program that ran from 2004 to 2007 and tricked out its guests' whips with everything from televisions to bowling ball spinners. Its success introduced Xzibit to a white, bro-heavy audience unfamiliar with his searing, heartfelt raps. An early Internet meme circulated his smiling face accompanying some variation of the phrase: "Yo dawg, I heard you like cars, so we put a car in your car so you can drive while you drive."
"I can usually deflect it or grin and bear it, but I'm human," Xzibit says, speaking from his spacious studio in an inconspicuous office park in Chatsworth, a few miles from his Porter Ranch home.

@xzibit: Father's Day, for me is everyday. I became a father at the age of 19. Now, at that age along with a definite lack of maturity you can only do 2 things when it comes to being a father. 1.rise to the occasion and sacrifice for the safety and stability of your child. Or 2. Fail miserably. I have had a wonderful time being a father. My son Tremayne just graduated from high school and today, my lil one just turned 3. Im a lil older, a lil wiser, and always told my oldest we "grew up" together. I also say kids are like pancakes, you always fuck the first one up. Lol. That being said Happy Father's Day to those of us that are really involved in the everyday lives of those who love us the most, our children. Run TO your responsibilities, NOT away from them. There is nothing more powerful than seeing your children go out into the world with your lessons and guidance, and succeed.

Xzibit recently introduced his young protege Demrick aka Young De, to West Coast's finest Dr. Dre.
Xzibit reached out to Young De one day with an offer he could not pass up: "He called me up one day and said, 'We're going to Dre's house,'" Demrick says during an interview with SkeeTV. "He said, "Just come, ride along and let's see what happens.'"
The pair arrived at Dr. Dre's house where Xzibit introduced De as quite possibly the West Coast's next big artist. Before long, Young De found himself kicking it in Dre's kitchen "He's going around and he's kind of just playing instrumentals in his kitchen at his house," Demrick says of Dre. "He looked at me. He asked me, 'What do you got?'". As Young De started rapping, a crowd including Snoop Lion, The D.O.C. and Fred Wreck gathered in Dre's kitchen, Demrick says. Then, Dre pitted Demrick against another rapper, whom he did not identify.
Young De notes he was surprised at how the meeting with Dre played out. "You think you're going to press play for him and you're going to play some records," Demrick says. "You don't think it's going to come down to Dre, Snoop, everybody. Xzibit's in the corner saying, 'You're killing it. You're doing your thing.' You never think it's going to come down to a boom box a beat and what you got."
Young De features on Xzibit's 2012 album Napalm and has been part of Xzibit Live Shows for the past couple of years.
