Hello I live in Waterloo, Iowa and I’m not sure if you have even heard of Iowa (it’s the corn state). Okay, my question how does this work? What’s the cost to get your car on the show? Is there certain cars you look for?. Reason ask is that I own a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, it’s old, rusty, and a little loud but it is paid for. I am wanting to update my car and keep it for my main transportation! Car payments get tough at times. I know this is a long shot and there is so many requests; when I informed others about my searching into my thoughts they laughed, laughed, and laughed. My response was “It doesn’t hurt to ask!” Thank you for letting me send a comment.

I want to tell you a story. A story about a boy that beat ALL of the odds and grew up to be a respected, hard working husband, father and all around blessing to society. My brother. To give you a little bit of background, me and my brother grew up in something similar to one of the worst “ghettos” you would see in a movie. We lived for about 5 years IN our fathers mechanic shop where my brother started out his love for hot rods, or should I say, AMERICAN MUSCLE. After that we moved into a house that was never a home. Our parents were alcoholics that drank every single day and fought to the point of blood and cops. I remember VIVIDLY my brother hiding me under blankets in his room away from the abuse. I’ll refrain from any other details but know it was bad. My brother had found ONE thing that he loved to spend his time on to take him away from reality. His 1979 camaro that our dad brought home for him. I remember coming home from school and seeing him go out to work on it and visualize everything he would once do to it. He ran away at 16 bc of the abuse never to return but turned all of his anger into determination to be nothing like our parents. He is now a master mechanic in New Orleans! That 1979 camaro was his dream, his escape and his pride and joy! When he ran away, he of course left in his car. Once he got where he was going he got jobs at local mechanic shops and spent any and all hours that he wasn’t taking care of his new my found wife and at that time, new born, on his car. Hours turned into days which turned into weeks, months and YEARS of work on that car. He put close to 30,000 into the car. I know the motor alone that he build ground up cost close to 20,000. Hard times hit and they had to move but for lack of access to a car trailer he had to make a difficult decision to leave his car at a friends house and made plans to come back to get it later. I was there visiting the day he got the call that his car had “disappeared”! Up until that point I’ve never seen my brother shed a tear. He immediately went inside grabbed his keys and drove 6 hours away to search every single road within a 10-20 miles radius. He returned empty handed, furious and heart broken. It took him YEARS to find another body style similar to that one and now that he has found it, he has found his self in financial difficulties with everyday obligations such as mortgages, bills, teenage kids, etc. I HONESTLY can not think of a man that deserves his dream car to be complete more than my brother does. ANY help would be beyond appreciated in getting my brothers dream car completed!

Hi my name is Daniel Butler. I lost my dad 5 years ago and I was left with his 1977 long bed C10. I was currently in school receiving my masters at the time.
